Volunteer With Us

As a nonprofit organization, Dynamic Strides Therapy depends heavily on volunteer support. We take pride in offering a variety of experiences for volunteers—from hands-on help during therapy sessions, to cleaning and maintenance, to event support. If you are interested in volunteering, please fill out the short form below, or read more about our volunteer opportunities.

How You Can Help

Horse Handlers

It takes 2-3 support individuals for each child we put on a horse. Horse handlers play an important role and are responsible for the horse’s activity and movement during a therapy session.

Solid background with horses required.

Sidewalkers

Responsible for patient support and safety during therapy, sidewalkers may be asked to maintain a variety of holds or supports, and be comfortable walking for up to an hour.

No previous experience required, but must be comfortable walking next to horses.

Barn and Facility

Help create a welcoming environment for our families. Volunteers can help with the facility by gardening and weeding, pasture and paddock maintenance, or cleaning and organization of storage areas.

Great for groups such as Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, or employee teams.

Special Events

Event volunteers can be involved with every aspect of the event including planning, fundraising, and supporting the event day-of.

Learn more on our Events page.

Clinic Interaction

Involved with the day-to-day running of therapy sessions in our sensory gym, gross motor space and specialty treatment rooms.

A regular weekly time slot helps therapists plan activities.

Volunteer Interest Form

Interested in volunteering? We’d love to hear from you! From college students to retirees, there are different opportunities available throughout the year.

Volunteers involved in hands-on interaction with patients and families are required to attend orientation training. Refreshers and continuing education are offered throughout the year for volunteers involved in clinic sessions as well. We generally ask that volunteers dedicate 1-2 hours per week minimum.
