After working in the healthcare field for many years as a medical assistant, Marge Cheesman made a decision in 2004 to follow a dream to utilize her love of horses to help people with various disabilities. This motivated her to begin training to become a therapeutic riding instructor. Feeling that she wanted to pursue higher education, and despite the fact that she was old enough to be the mother of most of her classmates, she took the plunge and began her studies in the science of occupational therapy. In 2010, she founded Dynamic Strides Therapeutic Riding, which has now transitioned to a full-service therapy clinic; Dynamic Strides Therapy, Inc.
Marge notes that when a child with special needs requires long-term therapy, it is not uncommon for him or her to become disillusioned and resistant to ‘the same old therapy’ provided in a sterile-feeling clinic environment. Marge helps children and their families by providing effective, evidence-based therapy that kids love, in a safe and fun environment.
