For Patients
Navigating healthcare can be challenging, especially for families of children with special needs. Our goal is to provide a state-of-the-art facility under one roof that eliminates the need for families to travel long distances to receive quality services you need and deserve.
Therapy Can Be Fun
Pediatric therapy can frequently look like play. The activities may look very similar to what your child engages in at home or with their friends at school.
The difference is that at DST they are engaging with a trained professional who is guiding some of their interactions, activities and choices to address noted deficit areas. And it’s happening in an environment that is designed to help meet your child’s specific needs.
At Dynamic Strides, our sensory gym, indoor and outdoor activities, and personalized attention with our pediatric therapists mean that kids can have so much fun they may never know they’re in therapy.
Our Families Tell The Story
Family support is one thing, but community support can be hard to find. Not at DST. Here they provide an abundance of care and attention and we feel that as soon as we walk in the door.

Frequently Asked Patient Questions
-
- Generally speaking we want to see your child as they usually are, so we can determine what areas your child may need assistance with and get the best picture of who they are.
- If there are specific episodes or behaviors that may not occur at the initial evaluation, bringing video or other documentation to share with your child’s therapist can be helpful.
- You may want to prepare your child beforehand that someone is going to ask a lot of questions, and have them do things that may be hard for them to do—especially if you have never attended therapy before.
- Wear comfortable clothing that your child can move easily in.
-
- Relevant dates for the therapist to be aware of such as: surgical procedures, hospitalizations, last seizure/event, major milestones hit and/or missed.
- Any medical documents that you were not able to get sent prior to your appointment. This may include referrals, prior testing results, previous treatment or specialty treatment notes.
- A current medication list including any over-the-counter supplements or dietary restrictions or plans is often helpful for the therapists as well.
-
Yes, we accept most major medical insurance including Medicaid.
We offer an out-of-pocket payment plan for individuals who do not have insurance coverage. For those who cannot get coverage for our clinic, we also work within the community to help with financial assistance.
Each insurance is different in their coverage options. Our insurance department will call to check coverage for any expected diagnoses and treatment codes so you will understand what, if any, out-of-pocket costs will be incurred during your child’s time with us.
-
A typical daily session will run approximately 30 to 60 minutes if a patient can tolerate it.
Depending on the relevant difficulty areas, therapy can run for as little as a couple weeks all or as long as a year if improvements or changes are still noted.
Goal areas are assessed regularly and therapists will discuss with families whether continued attendance is beneficial. We frequently have patients take breaks for holidays, summer or big events as we want to be sure that attendance is beneficial and not stressful for the patient or family.
-
Parents and caregivers are often those who facilitate engagement in home exercises or carry over of the activities practiced in the clinic. For that reason parents, guardians and caregivers are encouraged to be active in the therapy process.
Some areas of the clinic have controlled access and some treatment activities are best engaged in on a one-on-one basis, however even during those times, parents and guardians are encouraged to watch and observe. Our therapists always brief the family on how the session went afterwards.
