Reflex Integration

A reflex is an automatic movement that happens without conscious thought—to provide protection, avoid danger, and help us meet developmental milestones such as walking.

Reflex integration is important for development of all types of motor skills for children. Integration means you are in control of your body instead of your body controlling you.

How It Works

Reflex intervention is typically performed with specific movement patterns and certain positions that encourage motor coordination and control. These movements are specifically designed to target distinct reflex patterns that are still impacting a child’s functional skills. This may look like lying down, crawling, animal walking, and sometimes even play.
